Take a moment and focus on your breathing. A big breath in and out. Now, close your eyes, imagine when you were a kid and summer was coming to an end and FALL was just around the corner.
The chilly mornings, the warm sunny afternoons. Ahhhh….
Now, as an adult, I’m always rushing through life and I forget to stop and smell the leaves during this time of year.
I have created a Fall to-do list this year. Making sure I take advantage of the season and enjoy all that it has to offer.
- Corn Maze
- Take a Drive on the Blue Ridge Parkway – seriously the best fall drive ever!!
- Pumpkin Picking
- Walk the Crozet Blue Ridge Tunnel
- Chill on the front porch in the morning, watching the sun crest over the Blue Ridge Mountains and drink a cup of warm apple cider or tea (I am still trying not to drink coffee, I know sad, right!)
That’s my list for now and I can’t wait!
This time of year, I am always on the lookout for ways to bring Fall into the classroom. I want students to live the season and experience FALL as much as I can within the classroom walls.
We write about Fall. We play Fall games. We go on a Fall scavenger hunt. We taste apple cider (many for the first time, and many do not like, I believe it’s an acquired taste (-;)
